In an industry largely made of plastic, it is hard to find toy products that are not filled with harmful chemicals. Not to mention, polluting the environment. Once Kids set out from the beginning to create products that offer many benefits.

1. WOOD OVER PLASTIC

Did you know that over 150 Billion plastic blocks are produced every year that will never leave our planet? Of course most people might not discard but what about their kids or their kids' kids. Once lost or discarded, no matter where they end up in the trash, landfills, most all will make their way to our oceans. Plastic is non-biodegradable which means it will never break down to benefit our environment. Instead it breaks into microplastic which resembles food for our ocean wildlife. Next time you are grabbing a toy, think about our kids and future generations as everything plays a part in our environment.

Each collection offers some form of personalization. 3. THE COLLECTIONS 

When creating Once Kids we worked hard to establish core collections to offer our consumer. 

• City and Theme playsets. No tickets needed! In a world of wooden puzzles or ABC blocks, we saw a lack of worldly educational blocks. And WANDERLUST was born.
• A wooden action figure line that saves the earth. We looked at the category and saw no wooden action figures existed, more importantly, no biodegradable action figures. Enter PLAYHARD HEROES
• Construction blocks. As mentioned about wood over plastic, we saw a category that is a wide variety of designs but not biodegradable and lacks personalization. Que

4. NEW DEVELOPMENT

Once Kids continues the development of all their collections. In 2021 we added 6 new categories with 23 new product offerings. 5. HELPING THE ENVIRONMENT ONE BLOCK AT A TIME

We selected two impactful partnerships to aid in our mission to protect our planet around our forest and oceans, One Tree Planted® and the Trash Free Seas Alliance®. One Tree Planted® restores our forests, creates a habitat for biodiversity, and makes a positive social impact around the world. We plant one tree with every purchased product. Ocean plastic pollution is also a massive problem on a global scale. The Trash Free Seas Alliance® is the oldest forum of its kind focused on innovative and pragmatic solutions to rid the ocean of plastic pollution and other forms of marine debris. Once Kids helps save our oceans by aiding in the clean-up of plastic.

6. EDUCATIONAL 

Once Kids offers many educational benefits such as sensory, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination. Utilizing Wanderlust- the added layer of felt and Bamboo Felt adhesive stickers (spun from recycled plastic bottles). Development of fine motor skills with utilizing Eco-bricks™- fitting our wooden blocks together and utilizing hand-eye coordination.

7. STORAGE IS KEY

You can hear mom now… “Pick up your blocks” Once Kids has you covered. With each collection we offer laser engraved storage boxes to house your Wanderlust, Playhard hero, or Eco-bricks™.  Never step on a block again!

Wood rarely fades or breaks. They will last years to come and be able to pass down to friends, or family for years to come, all while avoiding harming our environment.

9. AESTHETICALLY PLEASING

When we designed Once Kids, we wanted to make not only products good for the environment, personalizable, but products that were beautiful to look at. Place it on a bookshelf and say “Wow, how pretty” Truth be told: This is how Wanderlust started, we wanted to place it on the shelf.
